The NPD & INNOVATION MANAGER will help create and deliver the Nelsons Innovation Pipeline, driving consumer focused, creativity & innovation and ensuring we deliver on our objective of being a leader in natural wellness.

Key responsibilities

  • To be an Innovation leader, inspiring creativity throughout the business.
  • To be ruthlessly customer focused, ensuring we have an Innovation pipeline which drives lifetime value; acquires, retains & drives loyalty.
  • To creatively consider consumer needs states, considering new, innovative ways to meet these needs via new brands/products/formats/ingredients/flavours etc.
  • Work with the Head of Product and Brand team to generate ideas and build Innovation into the Global Brand Strategy.
  • Work with a cross functional team to take the Innovation through to concept stage including commercially sizing each opportunity working with the Product team.
  • Help to build and shape our ESG strategy, ensuring all Innovation not only considers the strategy but also pushes the agenda.
  • Input to company strategy discussions/sessions ensuring the business is consumer focused and forward thinking at all times.
  • Attend relevant external events to gain knowledge & insight on behalf of the business.

Person Specification

  • Experience in creative product development, in relevant, regulated consumer goods such as Natural Healthcare/Beauty/OTC.
  • Good mix of creative strategic thinking & operational, project management & delivery.
  • Proven track record of success developing new products in a global business.
  • A deep consumer understanding and passion for continuously growing this knowledge.
  • Ability to develop effective ways of working in order to prioritise multiple projects on differing timescales.
  • Experience of working with 3rd parties i.e. agencies, suppliers, clinicals, licensing, development projects.
  • Collaborative approach and comfortable to work across all levels of the organisation to deliver projects.
