Social Media Executive

The Social Media Executive will support the Marketing department to roll out the UK digital marketing strategy for all UK brands across various social media channels. They will also have a strong focus on improved engagement rates with the ability to analyse and track the success of engagements on each social media platform as well as shaping the process for monitoring and listening.


Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Manager to create always-on and campaign specific plans leading to an overall increase in engagement across digital channels in line with the aligned long-term strategy.

• Daily social media monitoring and community management across multiple brands; producing effective responses whilst engaging with consumers in a timely manner

• Assist the UK Digital Marketing Manager with day to day management of all social channels, including implementation, publishing, sourcing & asset management via Sprinklr

• Produce monthly digital and social media analytical reports, measuring all performance activity against set KPI’s and Benchmarks.

• Regularly analyse website performance via Google Analytics, utilise social listening tools such Sprinklr to articulate actionable insights.

• Content writing and proofreading copy for website, social and blog posts.

• Produce ad-hoc social media assets for selected brands on social media; work with other departments to develop social media timelines that coincide with the product release, ad campaigns, and other brand messages.

• Actively contribute to developing new ideas to promote the business using social media / website and, uploading pre-aligned content to the branded websites via Sitecore.

• Ensure all digital content meets all compliance requirements (in co-operation with the UK Digital Marketing Manager and the brand team that liaise with the internal Regulatory Affairs and Legal).

• Support the UK implementation of the CRM system and build the UK database across all brands, leveraging all planned digital activities and proposing additional activities to grow the base.


Person Specification 

Education / Qualifications

▪ English and Maths GCSE’s Grade C and above (or equivalent)

▪ ITIL Foundation and Lifecycle certification in Service Operations

▪ Basic GxP training for pharmaceutical IT systems

▪ Training in GAMP 5 Computer Systems Validation and Data Integrity


Skills and Experience


• Minimum 12 months previous relevant experience or educated to relevant degree level.

• Desire to have an impact on the growth of a global organisations social media platform and engagement rates.

• Experience utilising social media analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Sprinklr etc.

• Solid knowledge of social media platforms, users and executing paid social / advertising (Ads manager)

• Solid experience managing influencers (e.g. bloggers).

• A solid understanding of digital content development strategies and tactics from a consumer goods industry.

• Previous experience in community management and content development, including copy writing.

• Knowledge of current social media trends, innovations and best practises.

• Capability to manage workload effectively and deliver to targets and deadlines

• Excellent copywriting skills and use of language.

• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office, Social Media management and content management platforms

• Capability to work efficiently under pressure and manage conflicting deadlines.



• Prior experience in a lifestyle health care or regulated industry (e.g. pharma/OTC)

• Experience of managing relationships with digital agencies / digital solution providers

• Basic video editing skills and understanding of Photoshop

• Basic understanding of SEO and PPC

• IT Literate, including MS Office Suite

• Strong communication skills and able to develop working relationships with people at all levels.

• Highly collaborative, comfortable working effectively in a team as well as independently.
